UK-based honey manufacturer Rowse Honey was in need of a refreshed website, one that would communicate one of the brand’s core missions and its long-running sustainability campaign, Hives for Lives. The brand turned to digital brand and product agency Evensix to develop a new online experience that would educate visitors and make them want to continue to engage with the brand.

The brief

Evensix needed to create a website that would vividly show — not just tell — visitors what Rowse Honey was working on and the values that the company was striving to embody. That meant that the agency first had to meet with Rowse Honey stakeholders to gain a comprehensive sense of the brand’s driving purpose and long-term goals, as well as the specific pieces of information that most needed to be conveyed to customers. How, in other words, could the agency develop a visual experience via a new website which would tell the story of Rowse Honey and its brand mission in an educational and compelling fashion?

The idea

The agency decided that rather than focusing on Rowse Honey’s products, the new website would emphasize the brand’s values and goals. Another crucial point of emphasis would be placed on evidence: being able to concretely back up the company’s claims through convincing and accurate storytelling. In this latter point, the company took its inspiration from digital journalism, rather than from traditional brand websites which tend to focus mainly on selling a product.

The results

The new site, which launched in early 2022, produced an increase in total impressions of 246%, a rise in click-throughs of 76%, and an increase in session length of more than 92%, as compared to the previous site.
